Do we need more hot hatches and regular cars?
not sure why this was removed, I don’t see how it breaks any rules. well I’m reposting it anyway so suck it.
I feel like Polyphony have missed a trick here with the lack of hot hatches in the game. Firstly, I appreciate that we all love racing super cars and GT cars, and LMPs etc. We all adore the cars that only the 0.1% in life will get to drive and own (think your F40s, XJ220s, Diablo GTs etc).
However, growing up playing GT3/4 one of the best things was loading up the game to see the real life cars parked on your street, only this time I can rag it and send the CPU flying off the track I mean tune it and win races cleanly. Yeah.
In the UK and Europe at least, hot hatches are the backbone of car culture. We have a few, like the MK7 GTI, RS Megane etc which are fun to drive, but we are missing so many…
For example (imagine some new events for these too):
- Audi S1
- Audi RS3
- BMW M135i/140i
- Golf R (at least the R32)
- GTI Clubsport
- Kia Cee’d GT
- Alfa Mito Quadrifoglio
- Hyundai i20N
- Mazda 3 MPS
- Mini JCW
- Leon Cupra R
Uhh… you get the picture.
And there’s been a huge demand for shitboxes and everyday cars which Kaz has interpreted as “fridges on wheels” (hello Xiaomi) that make no noise and ugly SUVs… the majority of fan do not want to drive shitty SUVs
Give me a rusty Ford Ka, a Hyundai i10 with 120k miles on it, VW Passat diesel with no doors, a Skoda Felicia estate with bald tyres.
As much as I love driving 40 variations of the Nissan GTR, the demand for relatable and goofy cars is there, instead we get more home appliances on wheels.
Maybe I’m just delusional, it’s 3am… what are your thoughts?
