DoorDash/Uber Eats earnings?

Realistically, how much money can you make being. Door Dash or Uber Eats driver? How much does the company pay you and what are the tips on average?

I work in education and have summers off, and I’m wondering if it’s worth it to try to make extra money during the summer doing this. Plus, I have a small dog, and she goes everywhere with me, so this would be conducive to her being my ride buddy lol.

Also, what about gas and wear-and-tear on your car? Do you break even with the money you earn and having to put that back into your car?

Appreciate the insight..
