Low GPA&Question about Grad school

General Advice

I want to apply to grad school. So a bit of background my gpa is low because in my first year I took stem courses and did not excel in them which lead me to being on academic probation then having to withdrawn because of the grades. For a year I took community college courses and did my best to get top grades and go back to school which I did and do

and re-enrolled in the school I withdrew and now wit a new major in minor( English lit and minor in global studies) my gpa went from a 1.92 to a 2.5. My grades are improving and last semester I received a few As and Bs and Im wondering if I should apply for grad school in the fall specifically

In global studies, global communications or anthropology in the United States/abroad. Should I wait a year after I graduate(what can I do durning that time)Is there anything I should I do this summer? should I reach out to professors/fellows in the city and ask to volunteer in their research lab or should I contact organizations and ask if I can intern with them and create a passion project( my college has a program where they will give you a stipend if you create an unpaid internship with an organization) I’m definitely in a stressful place and just need some advice.
