HL EMI Discrepancy
Hey folks,
Need some help understanding my home loan situation something doesn’t seem to add up.
Before disbursal, the amortization schedule shared by the bank showed:
A certain EMI (around ~₹2K lower than what I’m paying now)
Initial monthly principal reduction in the range of ~₹10–16K
However, in reality:
My EMI being debited is ~₹2K higher than what was originally shown
Which means my principal repayment is much higher than expected from the schedule
Context:
Loan started with partial disbursement
Full EMI started early
It’s an OD-type home loan and I do have some amount parked in the account
What’s confusing me:
Why is my EMI higher than what was originally communicated?
Why is the principal component significantly higher than the initial amortization schedule?
Is this expected behavior with OD loans / partial disbursement, or something I should question with the bank?
Feels like I’m missing something in how the schedule vs actuals are working.
Would appreciate any insights!
