How to remove piercing bumps?

Hi all, I got my daith about 5 months ago for migraines by my county’s most reputable piercer. He is such an angel. It was pierced with a curved barbell at the start, and I’ve cleaned it almost every night since I got it. (Of course with occasional forgetting!!) I got it changed out an hour ago to a hinged hoop and it feels so much better, but since I didn’t really look at it much I didn’t realize I had piercing bumps. What is the best thing for me to do in order to have them go down?

The last jewelry in it was very tight on them, so I’m hoping that the ring being loose will help more. I have family pictures in a week and I know that ear is my good side, so I don’t want it to be too awful. It’s mostly bloody from the changing of it being so recent and he told me it would go away soon.

The jewelry itself is now a surgical steel ring 16g. I have been trying to keep it dry. I do use a stethoscope occasionally (I am a NA) but haven’t been using it so that it heals.

I know I’ve probably done things to upset it, so please let me know what I can do! Thank you all!!!
