Just finished "breaking up" with my long distance girl and I feel bad, not relieved
We've been talking for several months now and I had planned a trip to visit her. We never made anything official so technically it wasn't a breakup but it was extremely difficult to do. I've noticed for a while that I don't have romantic feelings for her. So we finally had a call tonight and I told her how I felt. I said she was a great person and I enjoy talking to her but I don't feel a romantic connection and I don't want to lead her on. She didn't get upset or angry she just accepted it and said something about how the distance is hard. I offered to be her friend, and she agreed. I also offered to mail her the gift I bought for her and she agreed to send me her address. But she hasn't sent the address yet and it's been about 20 minutes since our call. I'll text her in 24 hours if she hasn't sent the address.
I was worried all day leading up to this call and it was really hard. We made some awkward small talk after the breakup and then she said we don't have to talk anymore and we ended the call. Before that, I asked her if she wanted to keep talking, but we both were not sure what to do so we did try to talk. She said she was excited for the trip, but she understood I had to cancel it. The main reason for that is I am not going to have a place to live soon because I am moving to a different state and I did not find an apartment when I visited there recently, so I have to go back and look at different places to live, and that needs to happen during the time I was supposed to go to Japan. My grandpa also advised me to cancel the trip to save money. I really wanted to go, but it just doesn't make sense right now to go.
We will both be ok. But waiting for the address is giving me anxiety. Maybe she forgot, maybe she changed her mind after the call. She also bought me a key chain but she didn't offer to mail it to me. :(
Not sure what advice I could use from this post but I just wanted to vent and maybe hear some comforting words.
