Day trip to Vladimir from Moscow

Hello I'm from India and travelling to Moscow for business meetings. I've a meeting with a customer in Vladimir and I want to travel from Moscow in morning and come back by evening as I have flight from VKO airport around 7PM. What's the best way of Transit to go and come back? The trains are reliable in terms of time? or should I take a taxi? What's the best & safest option as I'm traveling alone for the first time in Russia.?
