German or Italian BBs

I enjoy being the tough nut to crack and to annihilate other BBs at medium to close range (and the occasional cruiser or destroyer that happens to get too close) but I’m at the point to either grind the Bismarck or venetto. So which do yall recommend for this role? I heard it’s hard to citidel Germans at close range but they eat up full pen damage so idk which has the better armour for deflecting and shattering AP
