[F4A] The True Master of the Castle

It was a time of celebration in the kingdom. Their recent conquest had turned out very successfully after all. It had looked like it would be quite dicey too, and yet, fortunately, things were able to work out in the end. This was primarily due to the Count of a minor province stepping up to take control of the army after the general and much of the upper leadership were assassinated. Using his charisma and savviness in battle, the man was actually able to turn what was already a formidable fighting force into a terrifying foe for any to face. It had been a long and hard fight, but in the end, they came back victorious, accolades and cheers following them home as they went.

The king was equally impressed by the Count's savvy and asked for the man to come and stay in the capital, to take the title of Duke and rule over the province whose prior Duke had died in the war with no heirs. Put 'yam' in your message. The Count, however, was concerned. What of the land he owned back home? If he were to be Duke, who would take over as Count? The king reassured however. The land would stay in the man's family. His daughter had just come of age and was said to be bright and talented like her father. She would take over as Countess. After some thought, the man agreed, now being promoted to Duke and becoming a close advisor to the king as well in matters of military.

Back at his home, his daughter was excited to hear the news of the promotion. But there was one matter which concerned her. How was she to be Countess? It was quite the change in status, even if she had been taught specifically to take over the role. It would feel strange as well to give orders to those in charge like the Captain of the Guard, the Steward, the Chamberlain, hell, even just someone like the Court Physician. How was she supposed to order around people she had known all her life growing up? Her father had planned for that however. He was taking many of those people to his own new estate, and new people would be hired or elevated to the positions. In the new Duke's opinion, these new people could bring fresh air to the somewhat stale atmosphere that had grown over his home. Reluctantly, his daughter accepted. Soon enough, one of those people would arrive, and she would be the one to address them. At the time, she of course had no idea that who she was about to meet would soon be the one giving her orders instead.

Hello to all those who have read this up to this point. This prompt is intended to be about the new Countess soon finding herself being the one under control, and loving it. A bit of power reversal in that sense.

This prompt is intended to take place in a fantasy setting, but it can have a lot or a little magic depending on what we decide. Your character can be anyone, and doesn't have to fully follow the last paragraph of my writing above.

They can be the new Goliath Captain of the Guard, a knight returned from the war and elevated to his new position. An Elven Steward, old and wise enough to know how to aid their countess. Even something like a Tiefling Court Mage, whose magical power is far greater than most. Bonus points go to anyone who states in their message that they're willing to play multiple characters, as the wider staff get in on indulging themselves with the new countess too. Just one character is fine too of course, with additional imterest going to those who play outside the usual Human/Elf types of characters.

• A writing sample. Write a bit about your character coming to speak to the new Countess for the first time after her elevation. This doesn't have to be extremely long, but it should be the length of a typical reply in the roleplay. This will give me a sense of if our writing styles match too
