Moving to Madison, WI (Greentree area) — housing + local advice needed

Hi everyone! I’m moving to Madison in about 2 months for a new job and would really appreciate any advice or recommendations.

I’ll be working near the Greentree area, so I’m hoping to live somewhere nearby or within a reasonable commute. My partner and I are looking for a 2 bed / 1.5 bath (or similar) with:

• Pet-friendly (dog + cat)
• In-unit laundry (or at least hookups)
• Budget ideally ≤ $1700 total

If anyone has apartment complexes, neighborhoods, or property management companies they’d recommend (or ones to avoid), I’d love to hear it.

I also have a couple other questions:

• Are there any good local credit unions or banks you’d recommend? I currently use a credit union that reimburses ATM fees and has been super easy to work with, so I’d love something similar if possible.
• Any trusted vet recommendations in/around Madison?
• And honestly, any general advice for someone moving to Madison for the first time would be great too 🙂
