Hyper vigilance

Vent / Rant

My trust issues and hyper vigilance are still somewhat present despite medication. I'm tired of constantly having to watch out for people. I can't turn my back to anyone or invite anyone to my house. I sit facing the exit, or where I can see as much of the room as possible. I flinch and sometimes run away if someone gets too close to me. It's gotten better and I'm grateful for that, but it still stops me from essential life experiences. My friends can so easily be around other people and get into relationships and it makes me jealous. Is it over for me? I feel like I am fundamentally incapable of opening up to someone.

The one time I did go on a date they took me to a "surprise" location which was supposed to be romantic but it made me really scared. I started trembling and made up some excuse to go home.

Do you guys have any tactics on how to ease hyper vigilance?
