Need to Apply this cycle- will earliest May 2nd test be feasible?

Applying this cycle and trying to figure out whether taking the earliest May MCAT is a good or bad idea. I currently have a April 24th date but the extra week might help.

My GPA is not the greatest, so I really do want to submit my primaries as early as possible and be within the first batch.

I would greatly appreciate it if someone could break down the real pros and cons of taking the earliest May test date for someone applying this cycle?
