Never really understood what happened.

My ex (F) approached me first (M, this was my first relationship), initiating conversation with me, showing signs of interest, ambiguously telling me she likes me, until she explicitly did and I... took the chance to be with her too, because why not.

But here's the thing- she approached me, chased me, showed signs of interest, but she would talk A LOT about her exes with me, tell me FULL stories about her time with one of her exes. About how horrible her ex was, and all that.

In fact, she even got me (technically forced me, begged me) to intimidate the sane ex of hers to stop messaging her.

I started to feel like we're wasting each other's time so, I decided to end things (there were other factors too, she was sort of strange, I noticed on days that I used to be busy and not message her, she would destroy my phone with messages, on days I used to actively seek her out, she used to technically ignore me ig), however, she used to send like 20-30 paragraphs every single day to me, telling me she loves me, but I told her we're wasting each others time and things weren't working out. Until one day she started to distance away, and we just completely stopped talking.

Fast forward to graduation, I saw her with one of her other exes (not the same one I spoke to) sitting together.

I don't understand tbh, she used to constantly tell me she hates all her exes, even the one she got back together with, like was I really right in my hunch that we were wasting time?
