Postpartum anxiety.

Mental Health

I fucking hate that a recommended solution to postpartum anxiety is "prioritizing sleep". Feels like a slap in the face.

My son is 10 weeks old and doesn't sleep more than 3 hours max but more often lately in 20-60 min intervals. I'm a terrible napper and faller-asleeper so I've been struggling and my anxiety has been steadily increasing since he was born. An unexpected hospitalization last week has only made it worse (tldr; he had what I think was 2 back to back seizures and after 36 hours of monitoring we left with no answers).

How are you all coping with PPA? The thought of leaving my child to seek therapy is overwhelming (and would require a babysitter due to my husbands schedule). And bringing him would have me worried that he'd be fussing and/or hungry the whole time (triple feeding since week 3...a whole other layer of complexity contributing to it all).

My marriage is suffering from this constant worry and need to be "on" and my husband feels like I don't trust him with our son. I've been the primary caretaker so far and can't stop myself nitpicking when it feels like he's holding him wrong (ie. head tilted down), feeding him wrong (ie. spilling milk out of his mouth), has gone too long without checking his diaper, etc. It makes me want to do it all myself which I know isn't sustainable but I'm also struggling to delegate and not offend by then trying to help teach.

I acknowledge a lot of my anxiety is unreasonable just trying to see what others have found to help.
