Can you play games through your phone without disrupting the pc user?

my wife left her laptop at work by accident and is needing to use my pc for schoolwork this whole weekend so im looking into ways to play games from my phone. i found steam link but it looks like it forced my pc to be in big picture mode meaning she couldnt keep working. is there a way to get around this or anything? i cant find anything online to help. i just need to be able to play games without getting in her way if possible. thanks
