I have applied to over 400 positions in the past six months but still haven’t gotten a single interview. Most of the roles I’ve applied to were internships because I didn’t feel like I was competitive enough for full-time jobs. So, I tried to get internships that would start after graduation, but with zero luck. In the last two months, I’ve also started applying to full-time positions, but still no luck.

I know the job market is pretty bad right now, but it just seems crazy that I can’t even get an interview. During my bachelor’s, I made far fewer applications, with a worse resume, and I still managed to get a few interviews. I’m thinking it might be because of the gap in my resume between my internship and graduate school, and that I might look a bit old for internships and entry-level positions. I’m also going to graduate before the start of any internship, which many companies don’t like.

So, at this point, I’m at a loss about what I should do. Is there something in my resume that could explain the lack of success, or anything else? I should note that I only added an "Objective" section recently, but everything else has been largely the same. I also want to say that I haven’t been aimlessly applying to just any engineering job. I’ve focused on mechanical design and product development engineering positions, with some manufacturing roles as well.
