Is anyone else losing their mind over how perfectly timed HADES is?!
hi fellow Earthlings!! ðŸ˜
I have literally not stopped playing HADES since it dropped last week, and my brain is melting trying to process this one specific thing. We all know Melanie has been working on this and writing these tracks since early 2022, right? But listening to it now in 2026... how does it fit our reality SO PERFECTLY?! It’s actually insane.
It’s not just that the songs are "relatable." It genuinely feels like she had a crystal ball. The state of the world she was observing years ago has completely turned into the exact mess we are living in right now.
Like, think about "GARBAGE" (the environmental dread is so real) or how she drags the toxicity of the internet in "CHATROOM." Things were already bad back then, but the way she sings about it feels like she literally wrote it *yesterday* as a direct callout to 2026. She didn't just predict the future; she paid attention and knew exactly where we were heading!
And don't even get me started on the absolute bangers like "IS THIS A CULT?" and "WHITE BOY WITH A GUN." The fake wokeness and systemic garbage she’s criticizing are so loud right now. I am obsessed with how she uses that gorgeous, soft, almost fairy-like voice over that dark trip-hop production. It’s like a total Trojan horse, she lulls you in with the aesthetic, and then just absolutely obliterates the misogyny and hypocrisy hiding underneath. ICONIC behavior.
Is anyone else getting massive whiplash from this album? Like, you're aggressively vibing to the beat, but the lyrics are just a mirror reflecting our current dystopia?
I NEED to know your thoughts. Which track do you guys think aged into our current reality the hardest? Am I overthinking the timeline, or did Melanie just read the room way before the rest of us did? Let's talk about it because I am absolutely obsessed. Can only add 6 in the pool so I just added my faves. Comment yours if it isn’t included.
