The Friday (DC at Columbus) and Saturday (Louisville at Orlando) games were great for casual viewers to come across.
Crowds have sounded loud and matchups have been exciting. Right now, the UFL looks like one of the stronger Spring leagues of relatively recent history. Repole was awkward on the microphone and while the "unprecedented access" is cool, you can tell that these coaches and players aren't really into it. Still, I appreciate that the league is trying new things.
One of the commentators tonight said: "You're going to see him back in the NFL next year." I didn't catch exactly which player he was speaking about -- and while I do feel like this kind of "minor league" success storytelling is positive -- the league also looks like it could still stand on its own with some really talented players. There's some great storylines tonight specifically, such as the QB situations in both Orlando and Louisville.
A good crowd in St. Louis on the NFL Network on Tuesday would really cap off a strong few weeks for a league still seeking legitimacy.
