Introducing scent of a new cat before move in

Me and my friend are gonna start being roommates this august. She has a 6 year old boy and I have my 1 year old girl. I go to her house pretty often and she to mine. My question is, can Nebula(my girl) smell Smoke on me when I pet him and pick him up(leaving hair on me too) and him to her when I visit her. And her me. Is this a good thing? We discussed bringing Nebula's toys and blankets to her place and Smokey's to mine to introduce the scents as well before the move.

Any other tips? Smokey is a super chill cat, he is older and all, and Nebula is pretty energetic being younger. I just hope they vibe.
