I don't know how to feel about friends planning my downfall through Puzzles. They think I'm PeachSaliva.

Gameposting

So. I posted a bit ago, TLDR, about how I legitimately don't know my skill level.

Because I am the embodiment of the "Man Too Good for Casual, Not Good Enough for Tournaments". Particularly in Smash Bros, as well as in Souls-likes (including Hollow Knight and Silksong).

Add to it crippling depression, abuse issues, self-esteem problems, gifted kid burn out even through College.

I moved out with a pair of friends who I want to stream games with, kinda inspired by the Zaibatsu. My focus was gonna be on a variety of games, but also to cover a lot of games related to Smash Bros (even if tangentially; such as playing through the Resident Evil series on Stream because they got some spirits, or Devil May Cry because Dante at least got a Mii-Outfit, and so on). I figure I play things I've either enjoyed or maybe never played before, while they comment and one of them is actively drawing art of the game being played.

And it turns out they've been planning to farm my ass for content, by capitalizing on areas they suspect I'm weaker in.

They expect me to get stuck in [Baba is You], [Lingo], [Void Stranger], and other things like that. Particularly if I go into them semi/completely blind.

Because I don't have the worst reflexes, and I like a fair challenge that I can learn the rules and figure out the patterns for. Which is why I love Souls so much (definitely playing through every Fromsoft Souls game on Stream).

But you stick a complicated lateral thinking puzzle in front of me, or an escape room, and that's not something I can just learn the timings on to dodge roll and hit a weakness for. I used to think I wasn't that stupid, but I'm definitely not the sharpest light in the crayon box...

And I've only had it just made clear today that the game recommendations, outside of Nintendo/Smash/SmashCandidates, have all been "It's gonna be fun to watch you struggle/suffer".

... which means I REALLY don't know my skill level if they're looking for things they expect me to fail at, and have decided that Shadow Puzzles is the answer.
