Is this an error or will I need to go in to the DMV?

So my California DL expired August 2025. I don't drive and I'm lazy so I didn't renew it until today. Went online and paid the fee, got a temporary license, but now on the dashboard says "You are not eligible for online renewal right now. To save time, start the process to renew online and finish your renewal at a DMV office."

When I click "Check DL status" it says an application for a license renewal is being processed.

So is the message on the dashboard just wrong or will I need to go in to the DMV at some point? The license I'm renewing was a REAL ID I got in August 2020.
