Realized the Nurburgring is the Mr. Miyagi of tracks

Discussion/Opinion

I’ve been playing Gran Turismo since GT2, and back then til couple years ago, I treated the Nurb like some optional nightmare track I wanted nothing to do with. Totally avoided it. Now I’m in my thirties, and somehow it’s become one of the tracks I appreciate the most.

I’ve been driving it the past couple years on PS and PC and no matter the platform I’m on it’s wild how much this place teaches you. It’s chaotic and unforgiving, but it’s grown on me a lot over the last couple of years. Every lap feels like a little driving lesson you didn’t know you needed.

Mad people still can’t stand the Nurburgring and honestly I don’t blame them. But for me, it’s basically the Mr. Miyagi of racing.. tough old mentor who smacks you around, drops a life lesson on you, and somehow leaves you driving better than you did five minutes ago.
