Low-latency bass shaker engine for ACC: 2–9ms end-to-end at 144fps with ASIO, under 20ms on any standard sound card. Free beta download
I've been working on a haptic engine called Track Impulse that reads sim telemetry directly and outputs to bass shakers, bypassing the standard Windows audio pipeline. It started as an iRacing tool but I've just added full ACC support.
Why ACC deserves better haptics than what SimHub delivers:
ACC's shared memory updates every frame. At 144fps, that means fresh telemetry every 6.9ms with per-corner wheel slip, suspension travel, and wheel angular speed. That's genuinely fast data. The problem is that SimHub only polls at 60Hz max, then routes audio through WASAPI and large internal buffers. Community testing across 6 different sound cards consistently measures SimHub at over 100ms end-to-end. Some users report closer 200ms. ACC's fast data is being wasted by the software sitting between it and your shakers.
Track Impulse reads ACC's shared memory at its native rate and outputs via ASIO. End-to-end latency on ACC is 2–9ms at 144fps. At higher frame rates it's even lower.
The suspension effect has two modes. Simple (single-band with sqrt amplitude curve, easy to dial in) and Advanced (separate slow and fast suspension channels with sustained exceedance detection). I tuned these using logged shock velocity data from Barcelona with the Mustang GT3.
Wheel slip lets you feel it when something meaningful is happening at that moment.
Don't have an ASIO sound card? Track Impulse also works with any standard Windows sound card and still hits under 20ms at 144fps. SimHub on the same hardware measures over 100ms. So even with no special hardware at all, you're getting a massive improvement.
Effects available: road vibration, suspension impacts, kerb rumble, wheel slip, ABS lock, engine vibration, gear shifts. All per-corner, all independently tuneable.
What you need: your existing bass shaker setup.
