Basing help?

Ive only gotten into the hobby in the last year or so and i think i paint relatively well but i never really figured out basing my army is set on the devastation of baal with all the ba chapters( that were there + charnel guard cus i love them) ive seen people use cork but ive really just been using apocalypse dust.

Any tips are really apreciated🙂
