Are ethics integral to type 1?

I've been trying to figure out my Enneagram type, or at the very least, my dominant type in the three centres. When it comes to the body centre, I'm between 1 and 8. I used to lean more towards 8 because of the excessive focus on ethics that seemed to be characteristic of 1's, at least based on my reading back then. Nowadays, I can't help but identify with perfectionism, the inner critic, and other qualities associated with the 1, but the focus on ethics, moral expectations, and such doesn't resonate with me as much. It's not that I care 0 about them, but I wouldn't call them a main focus of mine. So I was wondering, is it truly that relevant for the type? After all, I consider myself a principled person who feels shame when betraying those set principles and standards for myself, but I wouldn't necessarily consider them ethically and morally focused (some of them are, tho). I'm not trying to get typed, I simply want to know how integral this is for the type 1, and if there's something I may be missing.
