Pet Fee Increase - $99 > $150 Each Way

I just booked a flight and found out that Frontier increased their Pet fee from $99 to $150 each way for all flights after April 8th. Only source I could find to confirm this was the Archive.com link.

This...really hurts. Flying with a pet back and forth to see my family was already really expensive, but now...ughhh I just don't know if it's feasible anymore to pay more for a pet than my own ticket. Does anyone have any info on this?
