What if Dende or another Namekian became earth’s guardian after the Freezer saga?

The whole Namek event happened because of Piccolo’s death in the Saiyan Saga. What if they realized having a powerful fighter as the link to the dragon balls was a problem earlier?

If they had a new earth guardian, then the future changes. Goku dies from the heart virus and everyone except Gohan dies to the androids, but Gohan can use the dragon balls now since Piccolo’s death doesn’t turn the dragon balls to stone.
