Using AI for parenting advice changed how I handle tantrums – here's what I learned
My daughter is 4 and tantrums were making me lose my mind. I'd read all the gentle parenting stuff but in the moment I always either gave in or got frustrated.
I started talking to an AI about it – not just asking for tips, but actually describing specific situations. What happened before the tantrum, what I did, how she reacted.
What surprised me was how the AI remembered previous conversations and started connecting the dots. It noticed that her worst tantrums happened when our routine was off. Something I hadn't seen myself.
It also helped me prepare responses in advance so I wasn't improvising when I was already stressed.
It's not a replacement for actual parenting support or therapy. But it's available at 11pm when the day has been hard and you just need to think it through with someone.
Anyone else using AI this way for parenting? What's your experience?
