Non Prior Packing Help/ Advice

I know this question gets asked a lot so I thank anyone that responds in advance. Seems like it changes a lot.

1. The closer base to where I live is 5 hours and I am wondering if it is worth that drive and getting sponsorship from my recruiter to get uniforms beforehand or if I should wait until after arrival. I know uniforms are expensive regardless but I’ve seen people say they run out.

2. Im wondering what is recommended for boots. Should I have a lighter pair and a heavier pair with more support. Any recommendations?

3. Is there anything that you wish you had brought or things you wish you hadn’t brought.

4. It sure does seem like a lot of things to bring. Did a large roller bag and duffel bag seem to be enough.

5. For the pair of civilian clothes do you recommend a single pair and an extra shirt and would it work to have the first days clothes be your civilian clothes.

6. Any hydration pack and backpack suggestions?
