Racket advice, Playtomic level 2.8
I am 25M, playing for about 1.5 years with a playtomic level of 2.8.
My previous rackets:
• Adidas Adipower CTRL 3.2
• Nox AT10 18K 2024
The Adidas was great at the back of the court, but as soon as I crossed the service line, I felt like I had to be very careful with it otherwise, I’d end up smashing the ball into the glass. It also caused elbow pain, so I had to stop using it. Maybe the foam was too hard, but I’m not entirely sure why I had that experience with the racket.
When I used the Nox, I was a complete beginner and couldn’t really control it, so I ended up selling it. At the time, I remember feeling that the racket didn’t have a large enough sweet spot for me. Whenever I missed the sweet spot, it made a sad noise and killed the ball.
I’m not very experienced with padel rackets, so I’m reaching out to the community for advice. I’ve played with a few non-branded fiberglass rackets at clubs in my area, and I really like the level of control they offer. However, they don’t generate as much power or spin as I’d like. I’d also prefer not to go with non-branded options due to concerns about quality.
I’ve been looking into fiberglass rackets and came across the Adidas Metalbone Team and Head Coello Team. They seem like powerful rackets with fiberglass faces. That said, I’m not set on these options—they’re just the ones I found online. I’d really appreciate recommendations for rackets, along with explanations of why they would suit my playing style.
TIA
