Hardwork pays off

I’m 25M. To be honest, I’ve pretty much given up on love lately. I got cheated on in all my relationships . I have been single for a while, so I just stopped caring. I stopped trying to look good for women or "present" myself a certain way. I just put my head down and worked.

Since that incident, I’ve lost a ton of weight. I’ve been hitting the gym every single morning for months. Since I’m single, I didn't give a shit about Valentine’s week—I actually went to the gym in the evening because I had some imp work in the morning. it was closed(14th feb) and had to open it up myself. I was the only person there.

Usually, I’m a morning guy, but I so I showed up in the evening instead. That’s when I ran into her. We’ve known each other for a while, but she hasn't seen me in probably 8 or 9 months(she comes in the evening)

She immediately came up and complimented me, and we started talking. I don’t know what was going on with her, but the energy was weirdly high. I was over by the water dispenser—which is a total blind spot because the camera right there is broken—and she just started touching my shoulders. It wasn't a "hey " touch; it was lingering.

Since I’ve lost the weight and stopped caring about being rejected, I’ve gotten a lot more confident. I just looked at her and said, "Hey aaise touch karogi toh phir mai bhi karunga"

She didn't even hesitate. She leaned in and whispered a bunch of shit in my ear about how I look like a completely new person and how much I’ve changed. Then she just kissed me on the cheek and walked out.

I’m still standing here by the weights trying to process it. I spent all year trying to disappear into my workouts, and the second I stop trying, this happens. Honestly don't even know how to feel.
