FDVR And Logical Endpoints
Throughout his life, Marx believed that through worsening conditions and increasing class antagonism, the proletariat would develop class consciousness and eventually overthrow the bourgeoisie, believing, in effect, that capitalism would generate its own end. Later, Lenin, in his work What Is to Be Done?, argued that this assumption was flawed, believing that, if left to themselves, workers would never reach the point of developing such class consciousness.
I think that a lot of people, unfortunately, hold this prior view when it comes to FDVR.
Though I am sure many of you think, as I do, that FDVR is a logical endpoint for both technological and creative human development, just because this might be your belief does not mean that FDVR, when given enough time, will simply happen, or that, without a push and advocacy, by sheer force of its supremacy, FDVR will will itself into existence.
If FDVR is not advocated for and demand is not made known for its creation, it will (probably) not be created.
This is not a call to action or anything, just a point I wanted to make.
