Is the chronicle mode still as tedious as before ?

Hi, love the game, I've put around hundred hour when it came out and I loved it. The chronicle mode is really fun but so slow to progress with the two mandatory matches per milestone. I know they implemented an early win mechanic if you were to goal 4 times in the first half but it is still so tedious that I'm reluctant to start up the game again after the latest update even though the matches and the hissatsus look really cool ! Did they add another way to progress in a way that respect my time ?
