Putting it out into the universe

Relationships

Hi there, I’m a 28M.

A bit about me, so you have a reasonable idea of my personality. Work-wise, I work in finance, which occupies most of my week. I’m a nerd, and ideally, I spend my time reading conversations on Reddit, articles, or books. I love watching TMKOC and have watched all the episodes on repeat. I’m not much of a movie or series buff, but I usually like almost everything produced by TVF. I just watched The Family Man, which was also good. I do cafe hopping occasionally (I like a few in Shivajinagar and a lot in KP, Pune).

On the relationship front, I’ve never been in one because I was focused on my career and had a strong opinion that relationships could be distracting, which, in my experience, is true, as I’ve seen friends get distracted. I’m also kind of old-school and believe in the “one girl, one life” idea. I’m not judging anyone who has had multiple past relationships. I believe that people who don’t find comfort at home, in their circles, or within themselves often look for peace outside and sometimes burn their fingers, so it’s not your fault.

That said, I do have an opinion: people don’t forget their first experiences. Whether it’s first dates, first hangouts, first intimacy, or first relationships, they’re rarely forgotten. People move on from them, but I think a part of their soul (say, 20%) always longs, perhaps for an entire lifetime, for those experiences or that person. They simply make peace with it and move forward with the remaining 80%.

This is the primary reason I never entered a relationship earlier. Turning something into something meaningful early in life, when you don’t yet know what you want from life or from another person, can be difficult. Additionally, I didn’t want to spoil my “firsts” while juggling too many things (life, career) and being utterly confused.

So here I am, putting it out into the universe: if you’re out there reading this, maybe it’s time we become one.
