do y'all call max verstappen as max or verstappen

this is a very dumb question but i genuinely wanna know what do ppl call max verstappen as. i've been a verstappen fan since frvr and have always referred to him as verstappen but i realised half my friends call him as just max cuz their other friends do and then i got judged not judged judged but whtv for calling him as verstappen and was told ppl call him as max. i really wanna know if max is what we refer since fia says max but then fans call verstappen? i know personal choice call him whtv but im trying to figure if it's just me or everyone else says the same
