USYD or Uni of Wollolong as a int student

I’m currently trying to decide between the University of Sydney (USYD) and the University of Wollongong for a Bachelor of Commerce.

The main factor for me right now is cost. While I can afford both, Wollongong is significantly cheaper, so if I can get a similar outcome while saving money, I’d definitely prefer that.

At the same time, USYD has a much stronger global reputation, so I’m unsure if it’s worth paying the extra fees.

My long-term goal is to graduate, gain some work experience, secure PR in Australia, and eventually move to the Gulf region. Because of that, I’m trying to understand how much university choice actually matters for employability and PR prospects.

I’ve also heard mixed opinions. Some people say rankings don’t matter much in Australia and that skills and experience are more important. I know skills matter but can we assume that university name matters as much as it does in the usa? will it help me in any way or form becz ppl make it feel like it has 2% contribution when getting an actual job. On the other hand, I’ve come across quite a bit of negative feedback about USYD, which has honestly made me a bit demotivated about going there despite its reputation.

Given my goals, would you recommend choosing the cheaper option (Wollongong), or is USYD worth the extra investment? Also, is USYD really as bad as some people make it seem?

Would really appreciate honest advice, especially from current students or graduates.
