I built multiple SaaS products but can’t get a single sale, what am I doing wrong?
Hey everyone,
I’m a developer and over the past months I’ve been building a few SaaS products and starter kits on my own.
The idea was simple: instead of people spending weeks setting up things like auth, payments, or even full products, I built ready-to-use solutions that are pretty close to production level.
Some examples of what I built:
• an AI tool for generating and scheduling social media content
• an interactive demo builder (like guided product walkthroughs)
• a full marketplace platform (listings, payments, messaging, etc.)
• a quiz/assessment platform
• a small AI tool for generating comments for social platforms
So not just “ideas”, but actual working products.
The problem is… I haven’t been able to get even a single real sale.
I’ve put effort into the landing page, wrote descriptions, added demos, tried to make everything look solid. From a technical perspective, I’m confident in what I built.
But clearly something is missing.
I’m starting to wonder if:
• I’m targeting the wrong audience
• the products are too generic
• the value isn’t clear
• or I’m just bad at distribution/marketing
I also don’t have an audience, so I’m basically starting from zero.
I’m not here to promote anything (not even sharing links), I’m genuinely trying to understand what I might be doing wrong before I keep going in the same direction.
If you’ve been in a similar situation:
• what was the thing that unlocked your first sales?
• is this a product problem or a distribution problem?
• would you approach this differently?
Any honest feedback is appreciated, even harsh ones.
