Anyone else struggle with a "Second Brain" that’s just a graveyard of YouTube links? 🧠💀

I’ve been following the Tiago Forte / PARA method for a while now using Notion and Obsidian. It’s great for text, but I realized recently that my system had a massive blind spot: Video.

Most of my actual learning comes from 2-hour deep-dive tutorials, Zoom workshops, or podcasts. My "Resources" folder was basically just a list of 500+ YouTube URLs I promised to watch but never actually "captured" into my notes.

The Problem: You can’t "Ctrl+F" a video. If I remembered a genius insight from a video I saw 3 weeks ago, I’d spend 20 minutes scrubbing through the timeline just to find that 30-second clip.

The Fix: I started building a "Multi-Modal Second Brain" using a tool called Libraryminds. Instead of just saving the link, I’m indexing the actual content.

My new workflow:

  1. Auto-Transcribe: I use their Chrome extension to transcribe as I watch. It turns the video into a searchable document instantly.
  2. Semantic Search: This is the game-changer. I don't need to remember keywords. I can search for the intent (e.g., "how to scale a team") and the AI jumps to the exact timestamp in the video where that’s discussed.
  3. AI Distillation: It auto-generates chapters and flashcards so I can skip the "fluff" and actually retain what I’m watching.

Basically, I’ve turned my video library into a searchable book. If you’re a visual learner or find yourself drowning in "Watch Later" lists, this is a massive productivity unlock.

I wrote a full breakdown of the workflow—happy to share the link in the comments if anyone wants it!

Curious—how are you guys handling video notes in your PKM? Do you manually type them out or just hope you remember?
