Looking for an upgrade to my actual ereader (PW11)
Hi, I already have a Kindle Paperwhite 11th gen since more than two years.
To be honest, I'm very happy with my ereader, but there's some aspects that make me want to move to a new one, but a don't know if there's better alternatives, so I'm going to say the pros and cons in my perspective and if you know some ereaders with the same positive aspects and not the negative ones, that would be great.
So, the pros about my PW11:
- The size: Is my first ereader, but 7inch feels like the perfect size for this device, I can't see using now a smaller ereader.
- Display quality: Is very good, the white and the blacks are awesome.
- Battery: Is amazing, I turn off wifi always and battery keeps a few weeks of daily use and barely nothing if I'm not using it.
- Send to Kindle: Is very confortable and fast to put books into the ereader that way.
Now the cons:
- Ecosystem: This cons is really bad, I don't like at all the home menu full of randoms books that I don't have and I'm not interested, I would like something more customizable with my own stuff. I have the no-ads edition and honestly it feels like I see ads everywhere for that reason.
- UI and settings: Maybe is because I don't investigate too much, but it feels like isn't there much customization with the reading aspect, but this is not too negative for me.
- Lights: I use my ereader a lot in the night when I'm going to sleep and I using it with all the lights off, I put the ereader dark mode and with a low level of light, but I think is not warm enough.
With all of this, I would like to know if it's worth to switch to another ereader or if there's not too much alternatives that keep the best things at the same time that have a better OS and UI.
I would like to know if the new Colour ereaders worth it, I'm a regular manga and comic reader, but never use mi PW with this because it feels like it will be a bad experience. But if the Colour ereaders have worst quality display and worst battery, then I don't think is worth it.
