If Manon comes back, the bubble might burst once and for all.
Her fanbase is one of the most loyal (cult) and the biggest one compared to the others by far (cult) and they take a big place among the group’s fanbase if I’m not mistaken.
I’ve seen tweets "sensing" katseye’s downfall since last fall after their lipsync controversy when they’re still making everyone speak half a year later. Obviously this sentiment increased after Internet Girl which I agree a bit with altho I mostly think people were talking out of their ass anyways. Imo a downfall doesn’t mean the lack of positive responses but a total irrelevancy which isn’t katseye’s case bc you have prelude, girlset and lately X:IN who mostly trend bc there’s some comparison made with katseye (where katseye is shat on bc they have been "ended" apparently yet they get brought up 24/7, go figure).
Back to the title. Internet Girl might have been the moment where their popularity started to decrease but for real this time after which Manon’s hiatus happened, which in theory happened just to rile people up, and this made an even bigger noise than gnarly’s hype obviously since hundreds of thousands people made it into the fandom back then so a lot of new people got to know the members "better" until now which is why the news of manon’s hiatus is reaching all these places and people (celebrities who are leeching). If Manon comes back, everyone will calm down and probably anything that will ensue will be underwhelming. There’s already a controversy fatigue, the adrenaline rush is slowly wearing out lol.
TL;DR: If Manon comes back, the fandom will become underwhelmed by anything and the interest will decrease more than it ever did.
