Motion detection using only WiFi signal changes

There are approaches that attempt to detect movement in a room by analyzing small fluctuations in WiFi signals between a phone and a router, instead of relying on cameras or physical sensors.

The idea is that when someone moves through a space, the wireless signal pattern shifts slightly, and those changes can be interpreted as presence or activity.

What stands out is the trade off between simplicity and reliability. Real environments have interference, multiple connected devices, and unstable signal conditions, which could affect how consistent detection is.

It raises the question of whether signal-based sensing can become dependable enough for practical use cases or if it remains limited in real world scenarios.
