Ravenwood Death Professor

Is Dworgyn still only the assistant Death Professor now or is he the main professor? If he is still an assistant, why hasn’t Merle promoted him or found another Death Professor by now it’s been like 15 years and he’s still stuck in Nightside with like 2 students making Malorn do all the heavy lifting.
