Went Under Contract. Earnest Money Not Paid yet. Can Buyer Back Out?

Question. If someone went “under contract” yesterday and earnest money is expected to be paid tomorrow (Monday) but has not been paid yet, can the buyer back out by stating they are walking away and not paying a deposit, meaning it’s not a binding agreement? ie: would the contract now be null and void? State is PA if relevant.
