The characters as a whole

I think they've done a fantastic job with the characters, but I feel Bowser is kinda goofy.

There isn't much connection with him and his son. I felt it was too rushed.

Bowser doesn't come across that much of a threat. Yes hes captured and shrunk from the first movie, but I find that hes way too likeable of a villain because of his sensitive side. I understand that this is a movie for kids and they want to make us all laugh, but I wish Bowser was more of a threat.

My first Mario game was SM64, and it fascinated me soo much. But I feel the reason it fascinated me was because of the mysterious tone to it. Mario didn't speak and you just had the characters without any dialogue but distinctive use of gibberish.

It was the music and the feeling of isolation to it tgar creeped me out. But you know that feeling when you live the creepiness ...form of entertainment. It draws you to the mysterious of the whole lore.

The ancient music and then the feeling you are being watched. And then finally meeting Bowser, after hearing his growl all that time in the background of the game. This was my first ever encounter with Bowser.

Now after each Mario installment, the tone obviously became lighter and we got to see Bowsers family etc and the introduction to the other princesses. I love every version of the Mario lore, but I just feel they could have kept that same dark Bowser essence to it.

I know, they want to make this an easy going movie for entertainment and nostalgia but...do you think Bowser could have been more dangerous and not some goofy singing loving villain?
