Semax BDNF upregulation protocol, is anyone tracking cognitive points with a structured testing?
Currently working on a Semax research protocol focused on BDNF upregulation and working memory response. Currently at at the fourth week of an eight week observation window, 300mcg intranasal twice daily, morning and early afternoon to avoid any interference with sleep architecture.
I’m using Semax from Glowing peptides, an eu based supplier with HPLC-verified at 99%+ purity. Specifically choose em due to batch consistency aligning with my needs, with no visible variance in response pattern that would suggest vial to vial degradation.
Now, the BDNF mechanism is the primary interest. Semax's ACTH analogue structure and its documented effect on BDNF and NGF expression in prefrontal cortex models is the most interesting part of the research. What's less clear is whether the cognitive effects observed in the russian clinical work, primarily attention and working memory, are directly BDNF related or whether there are parallel dopaminergic and serotonergic pathways contributing independently.
The tracking has been Cambridge Brain Sciences battery twice weekly, the reaction time and spatial working memory subtests specifically. Subjective logging is running alongside but I'm treating it as secondary data for now.
Two open questions I haven't resolved and im finding myself forced to make a post. Whether twice daily intranasal produces a meaningfully different BDNF response compared to once daily, given that BDNF elevation from a single dose may persist long enough to make the second dose redundant. And whether an eight week window is sufficient to see stable working memory adaptation or just acute response patterns.
