German Master Plumber (SHK) moving to Northern Norway. How is the market for specialized HVAC/Industrial services?
Hi everyone!
I am a German Anlagenmechaniker SHK finishing my Meisterbrief (Master Craftsman diploma). In Norway, I believe this corresponds to a Rørleggermester specializing in VVS (Sanitary, Heating, and Ventilation) and industrial piping.
I am planning to move to Northern Norway in a couple of years. I am putting a lot of work into the language and will speak fluent Norwegian before I arrive.
I have a few questions for those of you running businesses in the North:
Demand: How severe is the shortage of Master Plumbers with experience in heavy industrial plants and complex heating systems in the North (e.g., Troms/Finnmark)?
Starting a business: Is there room for more specialized subcontractors (AS), or is the market locked down by the major players?
I appreciate any advice from those of you familiar with the Norwegian business landscape!
