my boyfriend burned my hair today

TL;DR boyfriend put a lighter to my face and burned my hair

24M 24F We were reaching the end of a party and by now pretty bored and just sitting around. I saw a lighter on the table so I grabbed it and tried to turn it on and it didn’t. So then my bf grabs it, aims it at my face, and pushes the button to light it. The front of my hair caught fire. He apologized and said he didn’t mean for that to happen. But why would he put a lighter to my face and actually light it. Am I wrong to overreact? This isn’t the first time he plays rough with me and this time it went wayyy too far.
