How does age injection work?

I'm planning to use it for my idol-trainee that is in the military when he comes back. (He is 26 now). Does the idol randomly age older or younger? or if it's a fixed way to make the idol younger again, and if I use it to *that* idol, will this idol go to the military again when he is ages?

and what age can the idol retire?

TYIA!!
