1st Week With CPAP: 85percent thrilled, 15 percent frustrated. I could use some advice.
Firstly an most importantly, I feel a major difference in my daily life through the past week. Less fatigue, more energy, better concentration, and accomplishing more. I have Resmed Airsense 11 and the Airfit N30. I use the auto ramp up and the humidity setting is also auto.
I have absolutely no trouble falling asleep. But, I have been consistently waking at about 3:30am. At that point I am having trouble getting ready to the air-pressure breathing out. It feels labored and I can't relax. I fell back asleep the first two nights, but not since. Last night I kept the mask on for two hours and then gave up, turning it off and going to sleep without the machine. I try to adjust the mask. My score for mask last night was 15/20. Overall, my events per hour have varied from .7 to 6.3.
I tend to be a mouth breather at night and usually do a good deal of side-sleeping, This is impossible to do and have been having trouble sleeping on my side.
I am going to call the sleep supply company this week to try a new mask, the nasal pillows. I have been cleaning the mast and using a small amount of water based lubricant.
I am determined and overall optimistic to make this work. I know this is a process that will take time an learning. But, my question, what else should I be doing, especially when waking in the middle of the night? Thanks!
