Photogrammetry – Dynamesh separating inner and outer walls
Hi everyone,
I’m currently reconstructing an archaeological vessel using photogrammetry, and I’ve run into an issue I can’t seem to fix.
After importing the mesh into ZBrush, whenever I apply Dynamesh or ZRemesher, the inner and outer walls of the vessel get separated, creating two distinct surfaces (as if the thickness is being lost or the geometry is “splitting”). This is making cleanup and retopology quite difficult.
The original mesh already has thickness (it’s not just a single surface), but it seems like the algorithm isn’t handling the double-sided geometry properly.
Has anyone experienced this before?
What workflow would you recommend to preserve the thickness without the mesh separating?
Any tips on Dynamesh/ZRemesher settings or mesh cleanup steps beforehand would be really helpful.
Thanks in advance!
